Mrs. Field's Language Arts Class

Welcome to Eighth Grade--where a new world of reading, writing, and thinking begins!

I am excited about moving from high school to middle school, and I hope that my years at the high school will help me prepare my students for their next journey. 

​

In order for you to get to know me, I'd like to tell you a little story about myself:

 

     I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, but I have spent the past 34 years in Augusta, Georiga--thanks to my hitch in the U.S. Army.  After six years in the service, I chose to go back to school and earn my English and teaching degree--it is something that I had wanted to do since first grade.  I truly do believe that education is the single most powerful tool we have at our disposal.  After earning my Bachelors Degree in 1994, I have continued to earn a Masters and a Specialist Degree--you can never have too much education!

I have 22 years of teaching experience, but this will be my first year working with middle school students, and I thoroughly look forward to the experience.

I encourage each student to make the most of this year, this experience, and this opportunity to learn from each other.
