The Benefits of Collaboration

Today all of the classes worked on sharing and giving each other feedback, both positive and constructive, regarding their "I am from" poems. Kudos to fifth period: everyone had the assignment completed and they worked diligently during their collaboration time.

This sharing was designed to allow students to see how other students write, to experiences others' viewpoints, and to receive commentary from their peers regarding their own poems.

The edited/revised poems are due tomorrow. In addition, third period will be turning in their "My Name" revised paragraphs. They have received feedback from the teacher and know exactly what needs to be addressed in order to earn maximum points. Fourth period paragraphs are due on Thursday and fifth on Friday. The difference in turn-in times will allow me to read one class at a time and get papers back more quickly.

I will begin setting up the grade book and entering grades by the end of the week.
