Major Items This Week: Frederick Douglass Paragraphs and Verbal Test
Monday: Students should have completed their Frederick Douglass paragraph final to turn in today. This is a TEST grade.
Classes will finish any Black Presentations that were not presented last week. I am in the process of reading the papers and hope to have grades posted for those items by Wednesday. I have already spent about 10 hours this weekend on that assessment, but I did not get all of the papers assessed. Unfortunately, I'm spending a lot of unnecessary time trying to get students to submit the final paper to me.
Tuesday: Classes will begin reviewing Verbals for the TEST ON FRIDAY. This should be the final test for this marking period. Our QPA is next week.
In additional to reviewing verbals, students will read two passage from Douglass' biography and answer questions and write short responses. This is the beginning of their work to fine tune skills for the GMAS in April.
Wednesday: Verbal review and finish passages from yesterday. FIELD TRIP FORMS AND PAYMENT ARE DUE TODAY.
Thursday: "My Friend Douglass" from the Close Reader. Students will complete a close read and do additional short constructed responses on that text.
Friday: Verbals TEST: This test will include participles, gerunds, and infinitives.
As students complete the test, they will finish their wok on "My Friend Douglass"
