Monday: Students must have the section on "The Whistle" completed.

Students will first review active/passive voice, adding this in the GMAS section of their notes.

Class will discuss the story, symbolism, and how this particular selection fits into the "struggles of coming into adulthood" theme. Students will begin creating a graphic organizer that will assist them in writing their essay that will come at the end of these readings.

Tuesday: Field Trip, Team 8-1

Wednesday: Students will discuss the poem "Identity," making sure that they have a stanza by stanza explanation. Using this explanation, they will write a letter from the speaker's point of view explaining why he/she might have felt this way. GMAS Review: grammar

Thursday: Early Release Day

Students will have a morning Spring Pep Rally

After the Pep Rally, students will stay in their 3rd period class. They will be provided with an assignment from all content area classes to work on until dismissal at 11:00 am.

Friday: Students will discuss the poem "Hard on the Gas" and do a paired passage assignment of "Ask a Friend." GMAS Review: Grammar
