Since speaking to a a few parents, I have asked all classes to take out their planners and record the assignment due for the next day in addition to any long-term work they know is coming up.
Due Tomorrow: The first paragraph of the "Who is..." assignment (assignment is attached in documents)
All 4 paragraphs are due on Friday in draft form.
The final Who is will be due on the 29th of August.
The students had a quiz on "Fish Cheeks," and they could use the reading section to assist them in writing a short answer response. In addition, I provided a cloze passage to ensure that they understood the expectation:
Amy is more concerned about the cultural differences because ________________. Her concern is obvious when she ___________. When she (says/does) this, she makes it clear that _____________. Additionally, she ______________. This (reveals/shows) _____________. Once Amy matures, she learns ___________________.
After the quiz students were provided time to work on the "Who is" assignment. Many students completed the first paragraph and started on the next.
I offered students a "replacement" assignment for those who did not have their "Fish Cheeks" questions completed when I checked. If your student did not score well, he/she should completed this replacement assignment. It will negate the previous score.
