We are continuing to address class expectations. If possible, please discuss with your student why coming to class prepared, listening, and making the most of the time we have it so important in their preparation for high school. Ask your student to see his/her binder. Some students are still working in a disorganized fashion.

We completed our first 4 documents on the factors contributing to immigration, and we will shift into what happened when immigrants came to the U.S.

Students had the opportunity to see the extended response prompt so they would be better prepared to respond thoughtfully.

I was impressed by Sara in 6th period; she understood multiple layers of the text and how that understanding transferred to so many different understandings! I know that so many of our students are capable of this if they take the time to think about what they are reading and why that topic is so important, even today!

Reminder: Who is Project is due on Monday. Students should have their drafts in case anyone did not have all of them for Friday's check.

Please help me help your student. If your student is absent, email me so that I can ensure that he/she gets whatever was missed. If there is some reason that your child cannot come in early or stay after school, I need to know that so that I can make other arrangements to make up work, if that becomes necessary. Typically parents have a few children while a teacher has over 100. Working together makes all of us better people:)
