Fresh Starts

Yesterday began the official start to the 2nd nine weeks! This nine weeks our focus will be on reading fiction and our writing focus will be on expository/narrative.

I will be giving the students a Novel Project assignment today. The due date for this is November 4th. Students will read their novels with the end project in mind. This will be a test grade, so parents, please check the status of this assignment weekly.

Students will have their first essay next week. On Tuesday, students will complete a compare/contrast on King Midas and "The Monkey's Paw." Both of these selections focus on the statement, "Be careful what you wish for...you might just get it."

Additionally, students will have an assessment on Thursday of next week. I will send out reminds to keep everyone up-to-date.
