Poetry Projects are due on Monday--3, 5, 6 periods

Poetry Project Reminders

All posters are due on Monday. Everyone will be prepared to present regardless of the number you are assigned.

  1. Your poster should contain all of the items outlined on the sheet you were provided: Paraphrase, Poetic Devices, Speaker, Setting, Tone, and Theme. In addition, the text or your song/poem and an image should be on the poster.

  2. Each person in the group will present his/her poem or song.

  3. Identify the song/poem.

  4. Paraphrase the poem for the class. Discuss the poetic features.

  5. Reveal the tone, speaker, setting, and theme.

  6. Each person will have the rubric and name on the rubric to hand to Mrs. Field before your presentation.

  7. You will not look at your poster to present. You can have note cards to help guide your presentation, but you should give the class the idea that you know what you are talking about.

  8. Part of presenting is listening, so you will not have anything on your desk while your classmates present. Your focus is on the presentation.

  9. Any disruptions or inappropriate behaviors during the presentations will result in a deduction of your grade. Our standards include speaking and listening, and you should be able to meet those standards.
