Progress Reports go out this week.

This week students will be working primarily on their Black History Research Projects. Students have been provided the assignment guidelines and rubric, so they know what their focus should be.

Students have been given feedback on paragraphs turned in last week and will be independently revising those at home and resubmitting. This is the first TEST of the current term, so revisions are essential. Paragraphs returned on Friday are due on Monday, and paragraphs returned on Monday are due on Wednesday.

Class will be working in the computer lab the 7th, 9th, and 10th. By the end of the week, students should have completed their research and written a one-page information essay on their selected Black History person.

The only assessment we have this week is the prefix quiz. 3, 5, 6 will have the quiz on Thursday and 4th will have their quiz on Tuesday. However, students should be revising and working on their Black History project as needed.

Student will also be reading an excerpt from Frederick Douglass' biography. While reading, they will annotate and respond to the chapter. This should be accomplished during the class periods if students are focused.
